Along with its core activities of membrane manufacturing and system design and manufacturing, Permionics also offers other ancillary services, which makes it a single stop water and wastewater treatment entity.
A) Reconditioning / Revamping :
Permionics undertakes revamping or reconditioning of existing or old plants including those supplied by other suppliers. The total activity relating to the revamping of an old, existing or disused plant, which includes checking the design characteristics and pretreatment design, optimization and making necessary changes to the existing design, replacement of worn out parts, optimizing the array and the flow and replacement of membranes as and where needed is done in house.
Our service engineers would visit the client site, carry out an audit of the existing plant along with the feed sample and the audit report would then be submitted and discussed with the client team. Once the parameters of the job are finalized, the design department would carry out the optimization task before the final revamping would be done, either at client’s site itself, if possible, or at our works. Once the necessary changes are completed, the plant would be recommissioned and operated and stabilized by our service engineers before training and handover of the plant to the client engineers.

B) Application Development :
Permionics has made persistent endeavor to develop membranes for critical / general applications, which provides an economic viability to various processes. Our first step in this direction was to install Asia’s first membrane based system for concentration and purification of Streptomycin in 1981. Since then, PERMIONICS has developed various product specific membranes.
- From raw material to basic flat sheet membranes of a wide range to suit different applications to spiral wound elements to complete systems – Permionics has totally Indigenous In House manufacturing facilities.
- Surface modification of membranes and tailor made membrane to suit special applications.
- In house Process Application and Pilot Plant Testing Centre to achieve higher performance.
- Special High Temperature spiral wound elements operating at 90ºC are also available for specific applications.
- Trials at client factory site to simulate plant operation conditions and to ensure smooth scale up of the system.
